Nouns
Nouns are words that name people, places, things, or ideas. Here are some common examples:

- Ideas: love, freedom, happiness
Singular and Plural
Most nouns have a singular form (one item) and a plural form (more than one item). For example:
- Singular: cat
- Plural: cats
However, some nouns do not change in form between singular and plural:
- Singular and Plural: child
Verbs
Verbs are words that express actions, occurrences, or states of being. Here are some common examples:
- Actions: run, jump, swim
- Occurrences: rain, snow, shine
- States of Being: am, is, are
Tenses
Verbs can be in different tenses, which describe when the action is taking place. Here are the main tenses:
- Present Tense: Happens now (I walk)
- Past Tense: Happened in the past (I walked)
- Future Tense: Will happen in the future (I will walk)
Sentences
A sentence is a group of words that expresses a complete thought. It usually contains a subject and a predicate.
Subject and Predicate
- Subject: The person, place, thing, or idea that the sentence is about. (e.g., The cat)
- Predicate: What the subject is doing or what happens to the subject. (e.g., is sleeping)
For example:
- The cat is sleeping.
