Basic Sentence Structure

A standard English sentence follows the Subject-Verb-Object (SVO) pattern:

  • Subject: The person/thing performing the action
    ⚠️ Example: The cat
  • Verb: The action being performed
    ⚠️ Example: chases
  • Object: The receiver of the action
    ⚠️ Example: the mouse

Common Parts of Speech

Part of Speech Example Description
Noun 🐾 dog, city People, places, things, or ideas
Pronoun 👥 he, they Replaces nouns to avoid repetition
Verb 🔥 run, write Action words (base form, past tense, etc.)
Adjective 🌈 happy, blue Describes nouns
