Welcome to the Monitoring Alerts section of our documentation. Here, you will find information on how to set up and manage alerts for monitoring your system.

What are Alerts?

Alerts are notifications that are triggered when specific conditions are met. They help you stay informed about the health and performance of your system.

Types of Alerts

  • Threshold Alerts: Triggered when a metric exceeds a certain threshold.
  • Event Alerts: Triggered by specific events, such as a service failure.
  • Composite Alerts: Combine multiple conditions to trigger an alert.

How to Set Up Alerts

  1. Define Metrics: Identify the metrics you want to monitor.
  2. Set Thresholds: Define the thresholds for each metric.
  3. Configure Notification Channels: Choose how you want to receive alerts (e.g., email, SMS, webhook).

Example

Suppose you want to receive an alert when the CPU usage exceeds 80%. You would:

  1. Define the CPU usage metric.
  2. Set the threshold to 80%.
  3. Configure your email as the notification channel.
